On May 24, 2008, Elizabeth and I adopted Nicky - the 5th. Greyhound I've adopted since 1988. He's
a 5-year old male and came from a racetrack in Corpus Christi, Texas that was recently closed. The adoption
was handled by GPA-Houston.
We've been told that he was a kennel favorite among the workers there and we already
know he's a sweetheart. He now has a permanent home here with us where he will receive lots of love and care. He
only runs when HE chooses now. He's a retired racer!
On July 5, 2008 Mia came into our lives. She was to be
fostered by us over the holidays but of course we just couldn't resist her so she's now a permanent pack member. She's
5 years old and jet black except for a small white blaze on her chest. A sweet girl! She also came from GPA-Houston.
Nicky immediately accepted Mia into the pack and acts like her big brother, showing her how to do things and offering his
protection when she's feeling anxious.
Greyhounds make great companions and I urge you to consider adopting
one if you are considering a pet.
I'll post more photos of the dogs as I accumulate them so check
back periodically for updates.
